About Second Chance Sanctuary

Second Chance Sanctuary was founded on one belief: every animal deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Across India, thousands of animals are abandoned, neglected, or subjected to cruelty each year. Many need immediate medical care; others carry emotional scars that take months or years to heal. Without intervention, most would never know safety, love, or a family of their own.

Registered in Bengaluru on 2 August 2022, we are a fully compliant charitable trust with 80G certification and CSR eligibility, working through rescue, rehabilitation, responsible adoption, education, and advocacy.

Rescue is only the beginning. Every animal deserves the time, medical care, and behavioural support needed to rebuild trust and thrive in a forever home. As our work has grown, so has our reach — through our Cruelty Case Cell, community outreach, and partnerships with government authorities that strengthen animal welfare across Bengaluru.

To rescue, rehabilitate, and responsibly rehome companion animals in need, while advocating for stronger animal welfare, educating communities, and promoting lifelong compassion between people and animals.

What Makes Us Different

Many organisations rescue animals. We stay with them for the rest of the journey — from emergency rescue and medical treatment through behavioural rehabilitation, adoption counselling, and lifelong support for adoptive families.

We measure success not just by animals saved, but by animals who go on to live happy, secure, permanent lives. Our behavioural rehabilitation programme gives dogs with fear, anxiety, or trauma a real chance at successful adoption.

Our Journey

What began as a foster network — supported by an incredible community of foster homes, boarding partners, and volunteers — has grown into a dedicated animal welfare organisation serving hundreds of animals a year.

In January 2024, we opened our own sanctuary in Kothanur: a permanent space built for rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term care. Today it is home to more than 100 dogs, supported by caregivers, trainers, veterinary professionals, and volunteers.
